Dr. Christine Ashby will discuss the history of disability and the evolution of inclusivity standards over time. Ashby is a professor of inclusive special education and disability studies at Syracuse University and is the director of the Center on Disability and Inclusion. This event is in collaboration with Best Buddies International.

Enduring Humanitarianism in the Palestinian Territories

Sa’ed Atshan, associate professor of peace and conflict studies and anthropology and chair of the Department of Peace and Conflict Studies at Swarthmore College, will lead a talk about Western aid to Palestine. The Moynihan Institute’s Middle Eastern Studies Program is hosting the event. Register here.

Leaders in Communications: Former NFL Executive Scott Pioli G’05

Scott Pioli, a former NFL executive and three-time Super Bowl champion, will examine the dynamics of diversity in the NFL, the growth of women’s sports and the value of inclusion in the sports media world. Olivia Stomski, Newhouse Sports Media Center director and professor of practice, will moderate the conversation.

Working Towards Racial Justice and Educational Equity

Keisha Green, an associate professor of Teacher Education and Curriculum Studies at the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, will host a talk evaluating educational equity and racial justice through literacy and learning. Green’s work focuses on English education, youth literacy practices, critical literacy and pedagogy.
