Syracuse (3-2, 1-0 Atlantic Coast) visits Virginia (1-4, 0-1) in its second ACC game of the season. After winning its first three games for the first time since 1991, the Orange has sputtered in its last two. Syracuse is fired up after its dud against South Florida, and plays its sixth game much like it did the first four. After missing an opportunity to get closer to bowl eligibility a week ago, SU does so on Saturday, and moves to 2-0 in the ACC.

Syracuse holds a fourth-quarter lead but the secondary can’t matchup with Virginia’s versatile receivers when it matters most. The road to bowl eligibility starts to look a little bit longer when the Orange packs up the visiting locker room in Charlottesville.

Bowl Buster

Virginia quarterback Matt Johns is much more of a passing threat than USF signal-caller Quinton Flowers. The Syracuse secondary will be exposed and the most winnable game left on SU’s schedule could ultimately leave it short of six wins.

Hoos House
Syracuse 24, Virginia 27
For the second consecutive week, the Orange visits a team desperate for a win on homecoming weekend. Johns is able to expose a secondary that has struggled throughout the year to squeak out the W in the fourth quarter.
